CHARM-EU Student Exchange Programme
New exchange programme within CHARM-EU with Barcelona, Budapest, Dublin, Montpellier, Utrecht and Åbo

Since 1st of January 2023 the University of Würzburg is part of the European University of Excellence called CHARM-EU. Within the funding period a lot of different projects in Education, Research and Service to Society will be implemented. The European Union supports with its funding the force of Innovation and Excellence of European Higher Educations and aims to strengthen high competitiveness in the world.
One of the first activities is a new student exchange programme between the participating Universities that belong to the best ones within Europe. Therefore, the Service Center InterNational Transfer (International Office) starts an university wide student exchange for the up-coming academic year 203/24 with an application deadline at 8th February 2023 with:

Trinity College University of Dublin (Ireland)
Utrecht University (Netherlands)
Eötvös Loránd University Budapest (Hungary)
Université de Montpellier (France)
Åbo Akademi University (Finland)
Students should get grants from the ERASMUS-Programme of the European Union:
Depending on the cost of living in the host country the basic grant should be between 490 (Hungary) and 600 Euro (Finland, Ireland) per month. Addional Top-up funding is possible e.g. for students from non-academic families or students who had to work to finance their studies in Würzburg (additional 250 Euro per month), for green travel to the host University (e.g. by train or bus) with 50 Euros (one single time); or for students with children, students with handicaps or chronical diseases (additional 200 Euros per month); in single cases disabled students can be paid also the real costs they might have. Furthermore, students are entitled to guaranteed recognition of study results, online intensive language courses, student tuition waiver and preferred support from the host University.

Furthermore please be aware of the minimum language requirements and excluded fields of study:
Åbo Akademi University (Finland): Language of instruction is Swedish and English (not Finish!) because it is traditionally the University of the Swedish minority in Finland. Åbo is the name for the finish town of Turku.
Language requirements: Swedish B2 or English B2
Utrecht University (Netherlands): Excluded subjects are Medicine and Veterinary Sciences.
Language requirements: For courses in English at Bachelor level: B2; at Master level: C1
University College: C1
For courses in Dutch: C1/C2
Université de Montpellier (France): No minimum standard for French. B2 English is obligatory. Nethertheless: Please hand in only a certificate of your French knowledge!
Trinity College University of Dublin (Ireland): Dentistry, Nursing and Medicine are completely closed to inbound students. The Schools of Law, Business, Psychology, and English reserve the right to apply their own acceptance criteria.
Language requirements: B2 English
Eötvös Loránd University Budapest (Hungary): The University offers a huge part of its studies in foreign languages like French, English, German or Russian. Language requirement for English is B2, for further languages see the course catalogue: https://www.elte.hu/en/incoming-mobility/courses. Please indicate at you application in which languages you would like to study!
Universitat de Barcelona (Spain): Excluded are all degree programmes of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and UB affiliated centres. Language of instruction is Catalan or Spanish. Please check in advance in which language your field of study is offered. If it is e.g. in Catalan and you only speak Spanish you will not be permitted to study. Minimum language requirements are Spanish or Catalan B1 or B2, depending on the school:
Please be aware that the number of exchange places are limited and you should therefore also apply in other programmes like ERASMUS in your faculty!
