The motto: "Old home - new home"
In the e-voting, the members of the archive association voted by a large majority in favour of the motto "Old homeland - new homeland". This theme offers a wealth of points of reference in our collections. Archives harbour countless stories about migration, flight, arrival, putting down roots and the transformation of communities. There are exciting finds about people who have had to leave their homeland or have voluntarily sought a new one, about the preservation of old traditions in a foreign country and the emergence of new identities and cultures. Profound stories of changes of location, such as the founding of new institutions like universities, also exemplify the transformation from "old" to "new" home. This motto allows us to visualise the profound processes of change, identity and integration in our society through the lens of historical tradition using the example of the term "Heimat".
