Public Climate School 2025

Die Auseinandersetzung mit Nachhaltigkeit im Kontext universitärer Lehre ist bedeutsam. In diesem Jahr widmen sich erneut wieder viele Dozierende an Hochschulen und Universitäten deutschlandweit vom 24.-30. November 2025 der Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung. Dabei gibt es bundesweite digitale Veranstaltungen, die durch verschiedenste Formate lokal vor Ort ergänzt werden.

Die Universität Würzburg nimmt nun zum vierten Mal teil und geht damit einen weiteren Schritt in Richtung einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung. Die Organisation wird von unserem Nachhaltigkeitslabor WueLAB übernommen. Das ermöglicht Ihnen, sich sichtbar mit Ihrer Lehre an der Aktionswoche zu beteiligen. Einblicke der letzten Public Climate School, für die die Universität Würzburg im Rahmen des Projekts „Transform your University and Be an Inspiration“ ausgezeichnet und deshalb filmisch begleitet wurde, können Sie auf der Seite des WueLABs anschauen.

Es ist selbstverständlich Ihnen überlassen, ob und in welcher Form Sie Ihre Lehrveranstaltungen anpassen. Von einer kritischen Frage, die zu einer kurzweiligen Diskussion anregt, bis hin zur kompletten Anpassung der Vorlesung und Mitgestaltung des digitalen Programms ist alles möglich. Es sind außerdem auch außercurriculare Veranstaltungen für ein ergänzendes Rahmenprogramm herzlich willkommen.

Eine einfach umsetzbare Möglichkeit, mit der Sie Ihre Studierenden auf das Thema und die Aktionswoche aufmerksam machen können, bieten beispielsweise das Infomaterial und frei verwendbare Slides, die auf der Webseite der Public Climate School zur Verfügung stehen werden (https://publicclimateschool.de/downloads-presse/).

Das Nachhaltigkeitslabor WueLAB sammelt die Seminare und Vorlesungen, die Sie beabsichtigen innerhalb dieser Woche an der Universität Würzburg anzubieten, um sie in einer Übersicht vor allem für interessierte Studierende, aber auch Mitglieder der Universität und weiteren Interessierten zur Verfügung zu stellen und so die Teilnahme zu ermöglichen. Daher bitten wir Sie, die konkreten Termine Ihrer Lehrveranstaltungen mit Titel und Ort möglichst bis zum 03.11.2025 an das Nachhaltigkeitslabor WueLAB (wuelab@uni-wuerzburg.de) zu senden. Das gesammelte Programm wird auf der Homepage des WueLAB (https://www.uni-wuerzburg.de/wuelab/aktuelles/public-climate-school/) veröffentlicht und auf der Website der Public Climate School verlinkt werden. Dear lecturers,

The issue of sustainability is also becoming increasingly important in the context of university teaching. After a very successful Public Climate School 2024 and a big thank you to everyone who contributed to it, we would therefore like to cordially invite you as lecturers to participate in the Public Climate School (PCS) 2025. This year, once again, many lecturers at colleges and universities across Germany will be dedicating themselves to education for sustainable development from Nov 24 - Nov 30, 2025. There will be nationwide digital events that will be supplemented by a wide variety of formats locally on site.

The University of Würzburg is participating for the fourth time, taking another step towards sustainable development. The organization is taken over by our Sustainability Lab WueLAB. This allows you to visibly participate in the week of Public Climate School with your teaching. Insights from the last Public Climate School, for which the University of Würzburg received an award as part of the “Transform your University and Be an Inspiration” project and was therefore accompanied by a film, can be viewed on the WueLAB website.

Of course, it is up to you whether and in which form you adapt your teaching. From a critical question that stimulates an entertaining discussion to a complete adaptation of the lecture and co-design of the digital program, everything is possible. In addition, extra-curricular events are also welcome for a complementary side program.

For example, an easy-to-implement way to make your students aware of the issue and the Public Climate School is to use the informational materials and free-to-use slides which will be available on the respective website.

We will collect the seminars and lectures you intend to offer within this week at the University of Würzburg in order to make them available in an overview for interested students, members of the university and other interested parties and thus enable participation. Therefore, we ask you to send the specific dates of your lectures with title and location to the Sustainability Lab WueLAB, if possible, by 03.11.2025. The collected program will be posted on the WueLAB homepage (https://www.uni-wuerzburg.de/wuelab/aktuelles/public-climate-school/) and linked to the Public Climate School website.
