Einige Ausschreibungen sind zweistufig (kürzerer Antrag für die erste Stufe, bei Erfolg Vollantrag zu späterem Zeitpunkt).
Formelle Voraussetzungen und Beteiligungsregeln für

1. Research and Innovation Actions (RIA):

• Konsortium aus mind. 3 Partnern aus 3 EU-/assoziierten Ländern
• Alle Partner (akademische und nicht-akademische) erhalten 100% der Kosten, + 25% Overhead
• Inhaltlich: Grundlegende und angewandte Forschung, technische Entwicklung, in begrenztem Ausmaß auch Demonstrations- und Entwicklungstätigkeiten.

2. Innovation Actions (IA):

• Konsortium aus mind. 3 Partnern aus 3 EU-/assoziierten Ländern
• Non-profit legal entities erhalten 100%, andere Partner (Industrie) 70% der Kosten, + 25% Overhead
• Inhaltlich: Marktnahe Projekte, die neue, veränderte oder verbesserte Produkte, Prozesse oder Dienstleistungen hervorbringen sollen: Entwicklung und Testen von Prototypen, Produktvalidierung und erstmalige Marktumsetzung.

3. Coordination & Support Actions (CSA):

• Formell nur ein Antragsteller, de facto aber sehr große Konsortien
• Alle Partner (akademische und nicht-akademische) erhalten 100% der Kosten, + 25% Overhead
• Inhalt: Förderung von Standardisierung, Verbreitung und Kommunikation der Projektinhalte und – ergebnisse, Unterstützung von Netzwerk- und Koordinierungsaktivitäten der Teilnehmenden.

4. EU-Brazil Joint Call:

• o Kooperationspartner aus Brasilien sind obligatorisch. Brasilianische Partner werden über RNP (Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa) finanziert, es wird ein coordination agreement abgeschlossen.
