Restricted Admission Degree Programmes

If you want to apply for admission to the first subject semester of a restricted admission degree programme, please note that there is a difference between local admission restrictions and national admission restrictions. National admission restrictions are in place for programmes in medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry. The admission restrictions that are in place for all other restricted admission degree programmes are local ones.
In higher subject semesters, we do not make a distinction between national and local admission restrictions.

Degree programmes for which you will have to apply via the WEB PORTAL of the University of Würzburg are identified by the entry ‘UNI’ or ‘UNI DoSV’ in the table below (applications for admission to the first as well as to a higher subject semester).
Please bear in mind that, whether you are applying for admission to the first or to a higher subject semester, you may not apply for admission to more than one degree programme. You may, however, submit one application for admission to the first and one application for admission to a higher subject semester.
You MUST apply online. Whether and what documents you will have to submit in paper form will depend on the information you provided in your online application.
Degree programmes for which you will have to apply via the WEB PORTAL of Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung in Dortmund are identified by the entry ‘hochschulstart.de’ in the table below (applications for admission to the first subject semester only).
You will not have to apply for admission to degree programmes that are identified by the entry ‘unrestr.’ in the table below. Just enrol within the specified enrolment deadline.

* The announcement of the admission restrictions for the 2026/2027 winter semester is expected to be made in spring 2026.
