Code of Conduct for Tutors and Mentees in the Tutoring Program at the University of Würzburg

As a participant in the Tutoring Program at the University of Würzburg, we jointly acknowledge the following guidelines and commit to treating one another with respect and mutual trust:

  1. Voluntary Engagement
I understand that participation in the Tutoring Program takes place on a voluntary basis. All services offered are provided voluntarily and will not be compensated.
  2. Respect and Equal Treatment
Respectful and considerate behavior is expected from all participants. Discrimination based on origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation or other personal characteristics will not be tolerated.
  3. Reliability and Communication
We will make every effort to be punctual for all appointments. In the event that we are unable to attend, we will notify the relevant party — be it a program coordinator, tutor, or mentee — in a timely manner.
  4. Respecting Personal Boundaries
Personal boundaries will be respected by all participants. No participant is obligated to take on private responsibilities beyond the scope of the program, such as housing, financial support, or similar commitments.
  5. Data Protection and Confidentiality
I agree to the data protection policy of the University of Würzburg and commit to protecting any personal data I receive though the Tutoring Programm. I will not share this data with third parties.
  6. Voluntary Exchange of Contact Information
The exchange of contact information is entirely voluntary and will only take place with mutual consent.
  7. Expectations and Matching
We understand that personal preferences such as language skills or country of origin cannot always be taken into account during the matching process.
  8. Consequence of Violation
Violations of this code of conduct may result in consequences, including possible exclusion from the tutoring program.
