Online lottery application

Online lottery application for admission to the first subject semester of degree programmes/subjects with local admission restrictions (places allocated by the University of Würzburg) as well as admission to the first subject semester of the degree programmes medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy (places allocated via hochschulstart.de)  

During the respective periods, you will find a link at the bottom of this page that will take you to the application portal.

Application periods:

for winter intake:

  • 1 October - 10 October for programmes with local admission restrictions
  • 1 October - 10 October for programmes requiring application via hochschulstart.de

for summer intake:

  • 1 April - 10 April for programmes with local admission restrictions
  • 1 April - 10 April for programmes requiring application via hochschulstart.de

 

If you want to participate in admissions lottery, please submit a short application via the University’s online application portal. This will be live during the relevant application periods. Applications not submitted via our online portal will not be considered.

You may not submit more than one lottery application per degree programme.

If you would like to apply for admission to the degree programme Akademische Sprachtherapie/Logopädie (Academic Speech and Language Therapy/Logopedics), please note: You must submit a lottery application to the University of Würzburg and must have signed a training contract with the Berufsfachschule für Logopädie Würzburg. Only if you successfully complete the courses offered by both of the abovementioned institutions will you be able to graduate from this programme.

Please do not register to the portal (see link listed below) if you

  • already own an account for the actual application semester
  • or you were enrolled as a student at our university in the last 12 months.

You can login to the portal (see link listed below) using your username and your chosen password.

Implementation of the Hochschulzulassungsverordnung (Directive on the Admission to Universities, HZV) requires the University of Würzburg to collect the data which is collected in the online application form. Completing the fields marked ‘*’ (‘required’) is mandatory; applicants who do not do so will not be able to participate in the online application procedure. The obligation to provide the respective information arises from Article 87 Subarticle 2 Bayerisches Hochschulinnovationsgesetz (Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act, BayHIG). The fields not marked ‘*’ (‘required’) should be completed if the applicant is in a position to provide the information in question.

The applicant's personal data will be processedn accordance with the provisions laid down in the Bayerisches Datenschutzgesetz (Bavarian Data Protection Act, BayDSG) as amended from time to time.

If the applicant is admitted to University, the data held will be transferred to the student management system for the purpose of effecting enrolment.

Irrespective thereof, all of the applicant's data will be deleted from the admissions system after one semester.
