Europe Day on 21.05.22 in Nuremberg

On Saturday, 21 May 2022, the Bavarian Europe Day of the State Chancellery took place in Nuremberg city centre.

Around the Lorenzkirche church, numerous institutions, associations, educational establishments etc. presented themselves with a varied programme in Nuremberg's pedestrian zone. In bright sunshine and a fresh breeze, 40 stands presented themselves and their activities relating to the European Union.

The University of Würzburg was also represented with its ESF-FrischNET project: Sustainability is one of the three topics in the project. The 17 sustainability goals were presented at the stand in the form of colourful cubes, the progress made in Europe towards achieving them was presented and discussed with the young and adult visitors. Sustainability is a joint endeavour: the EU has made progress on almost all goals in the last five years, with some goals progressing faster than others.

Young and old alike also had a lot of fun with the self-designed city-country memory game. Of course, participation was also rewarded with small ESF giveaways such as card games or colouring pencils and pens, 50% of which were made from wheat straw.
