Self-study course: Social Entrepreneurship compact
Our self-study course "Social Entrepreneurship compact" combines content from Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) with methods for promoting social entrepreneurial thinking and action from Social Entrepreneurship Education (SEE). Both areas pursue the goal of strengthening the balance between the three fields of ecology, social affairs and economics (triple bottom line). By linking ESD and SEE, learners are encouraged to engage with the Sustainable Development Goals and develop social entrepreneurial solutions to social challenges that they experience in their everyday lives and environments.
SEE is not just about teaching basic economic knowledge, but rather about promoting elementary personal skills and key competences for lifelong learning. These include, for example, personal responsibility, initiative, innovative spirit, a controlled willingness to take risks, constructive ways of dealing with failure and upheaval, etc. SEE is therefore an educational concept that uses the development of innovative and social projects to train individual competences that are important for shaping a social future oriented towards the common good.
