Event overview
Technological developments such as smartphone apps or fitness trackers offer new opportunities for interventions to improve physical and mental health. As a low-threshold preventive healthcare measure, this harbours potential for companies and individuals. But how effective are digital health interventions? How precise are the data collected and the results of analyses from trackers? And what is really recommended - from the perspective of psychological research?

Men and women are biologically structured differently. But the fact that these differences also manifest themselves in bodily functions such as the immune system was not believed for a long time. The male body has served as the template for all medical applications throughout history - but this is set to change: a relatively new branch of science, gender-specific medicine, is investigating how these differences between the sexes affect the appearance, development and treatment of diseases.
In this keynote lecture, we will give you an overview of gender-specific medicine and use examples to illustrate how taking biological and social differences into account improves medical care for both sexes.

CVs are used to gain an initial impression of a person and to decide whether to invite them for an interview. A CV contains a lot of information: in addition to educational and professional qualifications and previous work experience, hobbies or voluntary work may also be listed. Sometimes a photo is also included. All of this information can be used to make a decision.
In a keynote speech followed by a discussion, industrial and organisational psychologist Dr Sebastian Seibel will present the typical mistakes made when assessing CVs and give clear tips on how to use CVs more efficiently in personnel selection.

Stately vs. elfin, pastel-coloured recipe ideas vs. lumberjack steaks for "real guys".
The differences in the generally accepted ideal image of a male or female body are immense. This also determines how overweight and obesity are perceived and dealt with between the sexes. In addition, there are actual gender-specific differences in fat distribution and energy balance caused by sex hormones. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is not only closely associated with obesity, here too gender-specific differences influence screening, treatment and complications.

The need to make the purchase as easy as possible for the customer is a key aspect for the successful conclusion of a sales contract. In order to successfully participate in global trade and maximise your own turnover, participation in e-commerce is essential. Dozens of expert systems and platforms exist on the market to support trade. Shop systems often offer practical drag-and-drop editors for creating an online shop so that no in-house programming expertise is required.

Mental illnesses are among the diseases that are increasing in frequency and often occur for the first time very early in life. As a result, they affect many people in important stages of life in young adulthood, such as in the first phase of professional development. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic with its measures to restrict contact and work from home, younger people in particular have been hit hardest by the social consequences, meaning that social support and stress management options have been drastically restricted, especially for those at the highest risk of developing a mental illness for the first time. It is therefore all the more important to raise awareness of the development of mental illness and to counteract the unfortunately still widespread stigmatisation of people with mental illness.
The lecture will take place on 13.7.22 at 10 a.m. via Zoom.

Company data is an important resource that needs to be protected! The series of events on corporate data security addresses three fundamental aspects that should ensure the protection of data. Risk analysis is a structured procedure for identifying potential events that could cause damage. In addition to identification, the evaluation and treatment of risks is an elementary component of risk analysis. A risk is made up of the potential damage and the possible probability of occurrence, which must be correctly assessed. In addition to natural disasters such as flooding, human factors must also be taken into account.
The current series of events on corporate data security includes a presentation on the topic of risk analysis.

How sustainable a company is is significantly influenced by the behaviour of its employees. In other words, a company is only as sustainable as its employees and their sustainable decisions and actions. Sustainability must be practised within the company. This in turn requires an awareness of sustainability among the entire workforce. In order for the transformation to a sustainable company to succeed, special attention should be paid to internal communication, green human resource management and accompanying change management. The presentation aims to convey practical ways in which companies can communicate and reinforce awareness of sustainable decisions internally.

Company data is an important resource that needs to be protected! The series of events on corporate data security addresses three fundamental aspects that are intended to ensure data protection.
The coronavirus crisis has ensured that more and more people are currently working from home. For most companies in Germany, this is the only option for managing upcoming projects and tasks. However, this "emergency solution" also harbours a number of risks. This is because the security of most computer systems at home is nowhere near as good as at work. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a service that encrypts internet traffic in unsecured networks to ensure digital privacy and protect (company) data from third parties.
In the current series of events on corporate data security, a presentation on the topic of secure data transmission will be held.

Work motivation - boosting concentration and motivation when working from home
Every company wants motivated, committed and productive employees. The coronavirus pandemic has drastically changed the world of work and the desire to work from home has become clear. This raises the question of how motivated employees are to work from home. Is motivation to work lower when working from home than in the office? What tips and tricks are there for staying focussed and motivated when working from home? Dr Sebastian Seibel will answer these and other questions in a 30-minute keynote speech followed by a discussion.
Dr Sebastian Seibel is a research assistant at the Chair of Work and Organisational Psychology at the University of Würzburg. He studied in Mannheim and Saarbrücken and completed his doctorate at the University of Bamberg on the subject of "Anticipation of leisure time". His research focuses on work motivation, the interplay between work and relaxation and the work commitment of employees.

Company data is an important resource that needs to be protected! The series of events on corporate data security addresses three fundamental aspects that should ensure the protection of data.
Cyber attacks do not only exploit technical security vulnerabilities. No matter how secure the PC may be: If a user uses an insecure password or is unaware that they are revealing sensitive access data to the supposed "technician" on the phone, even the best protection programmes won't help. Firstly, this means that cyber security awareness must be created. Building on this, a change in behaviour towards secure digital handling can be achieved.
As part of the current series of events on corporate data security, there will be a presentation on the topic of security awareness - sensitising employees to IT security.

Sustainability in companies? It doesn't work without purchasing!
Sustainable supply chains are essential for a sustainable company. After all, companies can only be as sustainable as their own supply chain. The aim is to show what role procurement plays in achieving sustainability goals and what the first steps towards implementing sustainable procurement and sustainable supply chains can look like for individual companies. A checklist will help to determine the status quo and approaches for implementing a sustainable procurement strategy in your own company context.

As an entrepreneur, you know that employees are one of a company's most valuable resources. High staff turnover not only means that a great deal of expertise about operational processes and internal company information disappears. At the same time, new hires cost a lot of money in the application process and a lot of time during the induction period. Sustainable HR management should work in such a way that employees stay with the company for as long as possible - and a high level of employee satisfaction is important for this.
The world of work has evolved and so have the demands of employees. Work-life balance, gender equality and established health management in the company have become increasingly important. In order to maintain or increase employee satisfaction, the employer must make an effort. The first step is self-reflection in order to check in which areas the company is attractive and in which areas there is room for improvement.
Our expert Ruth Kunzmann, lecturer in the Diversity Management Master's programme at the University of Würzburg, will work with you to examine your company and its potential for action in the area of HR management. We will introduce you to an online questionnaire and work through it together. We will also use the information obtained in this way to develop needs-based formats that will provide you with targeted support in the further development of sustainable HR management.

Integrative medicine - concepts for optimising the care of chronically ill patients
The demand for complementary medical procedures on the part of patients remains high, particularly in oncology. Fortunately, the scientific evidence is constantly growing, so that integrative medical procedures are increasingly being mentioned in medical guidelines. We provide insights into modern integrative medical concepts. Integrative medicine counters the pathogenetic view with a salutogenetic one, with the aim of promoting individual health competence and making patients active participants in coping with their illness.

Companies are often faced with the problem of having to adapt to a dynamic environment in order to ensure their own competitiveness. This results in changes that need to be made and introduced within the organisation. Ad hoc solutions that are not properly planned and implemented in a coordinated manner pose a risk to the medium and long-term success of the company. To avoid this, there are tools and approaches for implementing changes professionally. Companies can use change management methods to reduce potential risks and maximise the success of adjustments.
As part of the current series of events on business software, a presentation on the facets of change management will be held.
- ERP systems and selection (already held)

Project-based work is increasingly becoming the norm in many corporate contexts. As a result, the demand for project and team management methods that structure work in teams and projects is growing. In software development in particular, the focus is on agile project methods, which are clearly differentiated from traditional project management and planning methods. But what exactly are the differences and strengths of these new approaches and can they also be successfully established outside of software development?
Martin Kufferath-Sieberin, Network Manager at the Service Centre for Research and Technology Transfer at the University of Würzburg and TÜV-certified SCRUM Professional, will introduce you to the basics of agile project management according to SCRUM. In addition to the SCRUM basics, she will also explain which components of the SCRUM methods are particularly important for work contexts outside of software development.

Software solutions are increasingly being used to organise business processes and structures. It is necessary for companies to use the right software solutions in order to not only cover current requirements, but also to be able to utilise optimisation potential. The right software can also offer new opportunities.
Knowledge is key and this also applies to companies. Whether for strategic or operational activities, the basis of a well-founded decision is the knowledge available. The knowledge base refers to all data and information, all knowledge and all skills that an organisation or person has or should have to solve its various tasks. Here, too, the market offers a wide range of software solutions to make knowledge management in the company more effective and increase the quality of decision-making.
Illustrative examples and expertise from university research as well as practical insights will be used to demonstrate the subject area. The subsequent discussion is intended to encourage an exchange of knowledge and its benefits for SMEs.

At this event, you as a small or medium-sized company can find out what opportunities you have to act sustainably.
But what exactly does sustainability mean? From which perspectives can sustainability be viewed? How can companies act sustainably?
"Diversely sustainable" is our topic in March:
In the Botanical Garden, three scientists will present sustainability from their respective perspectives:
- Dr Frauke Fischer from the Department of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology will explain the ecological perspective.
- How do sustainability and economics go together? Dr Jasmin Möller from the Chair of Business and Industrial Management explains this to us
- How can companies act in a socially sustainable way? This is explained to us by the Institute of Protestant Theology and Religious Education.
After the lectures, the curator of the Botanical Garden, Dr Vogg, will guide us through the Botanical Garden's greenhouses - an increase in knowledge and exciting anecdotes guaranteed!
If the pandemic conditions allow, the event will be possible in presence and via Zoom. Please register in advance at laura-sofia.colon@uni-wuerzburg.de and let us know whether you would like to participate on site or via Zoom.

Digitalisation not only brings challenges, but also innovations. These can offer great added value and help to set the company apart from the competition. One of these innovations is the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The potential applications here extend across all areas of the company. However, SMEs are confronted with many problems, such as budget restrictions, a shortage of skilled labour and unclear areas of application.
Illustrative examples and expertise from university research as well as practical insights will be used to illustrate the subject area. The aim of the subsequent discussion is to exchange views on AI and its benefits for SMEs.
