ESF-FrischNET introduces itself
Strong network structures for better dialogue
In interactive and interdisciplinary formats, methods, content and current research findings from university research and teaching will be shared with the employees of the cooperating companies until the end of 2022. The aim is to provide companies with helpful information that is suitable for everyday working life and thus contribute to strengthening the Bavarian economy.
In order to be able to respond specifically to the needs of the participating companies, strong network structures between companies, JMU researchers and lecturers and university students will be established over the coming months. Joint programme formats will be developed through active communication and recurring network meetings. By incorporating specialist, professional and personal perspectives, a comprehensive and enriching exchange of knowledge is practised for all participants in the network.
Life science, sustainable business and working environments 4.0 - ESF-FrischNET content in tune with the times
The content of the ESF-FrischNET project is orientated towards three key innovative areas of development in today's society:
The field of Life Science deals with processes or structures of living organisms. The social and economic interest in life science projects, especially in the medical field, continues to grow. With its outstanding research facilities in the natural sciences and computer science, the University of Würzburg offers companies the opportunity to benefit from the university's knowledge in the interface areas between humans and technology.
The area of Sustainable Business is dedicated to the broad topic of sustainability. Sustainable corporate management is becoming increasingly relevant both politically and socially. The economy is also increasingly required to integrate sustainability concepts into its own corporate planning. In ESF-FrischNET, the needs of companies are explored together in the network and offered to companies in interdisciplinary content on the three dimensions of sustainability - ecological, economic and social sustainability - with a concrete reference for small and medium-sized enterprises.
In the area of Working environments 4.0 the companies in the network are supported in the implementation of digitalisation projects. The area is supervised by the Chair of Management and Business Information Systems, which is firmly integrated into the project. This allows participating companies to benefit directly and specifically from the expertise of the Chair in the field of corporate digitalisation.
Cooperations with chairs
The ESF-FrischNET network will draw on the various expertise of the teaching staff and the latest findings of the university's researchers and students when designing the programmes. In order to be as topic- and target group-orientated as possible, selective cooperation with different research and teaching areas of the university is planned - always depending on the needs of the interested companies.
Two degree programmes from the Faculty of Human Sciences were already able to introduce themselves to the participating company representatives at the kick-off. The Master's degree programmes"Diversity Management, Religion and Education" from the Institute of Protestant Religion and "Social Science Sustainability Research" from the Institute of Political Science and Sociology will be integrated into the ESF-FrischNET network. Both degree programmes deal empirically with current topics and discourses in their respective subject areas. In the field of sustainable business in particular, the companies in the network can thus benefit from the latest research findings and provide contacts with students and researchers.
Successful collaborations in past network projects
In implementing ESF-FrischNET, the university's Service Centre for Research and Technology Transfer (SFT) benefits from a wealth of experience from previous successful network projects. Jürgen Zinecker - Managing Director of AXSOL GmbH, a long-standing co-operation partner of the SFT and in ESF-FrischNET - reported on his positive experiences to those present. He emphasised the various opportunities for cooperating companies from network and knowledge transfer projects in the different areas of day-to-day work and company development.
