Social Science Pathways to Leadership - from Ideas to Influence

Studying social sciences and humanities opens many possible career paths, but it can also come with a degree of uncertainty about where those paths might lead.  Building a career therefore requires curiosity, creativity and the courage to take opportunities when they arise.

In this talk, Katrine Moland Hansen reflects on her own path from social science studies to leadership roles at the intersection of research, technology and policy. She shares why working hard matters, but also why it is important to understand your strengths and weaknesses, to notice what motivates you and what does not, and to be willing to take chances along the way. Through examples from work with innovation, artificial intelligence and international collaboration, she illustrates how  analytical skills and societal understanding gained during her studies provide a strong foundation for strategy, collaborative work and leadership.
