Am 13. Mai 2025 von 16:15 bis 17:15 Uhr findet ein Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Günther Waxenegger-Wilfing über sogenannte "intelligent Space Systems" statt. Der Vortrag soll aktuelle grundlegende Komponenten erklären und verschiedene Herausforderungen der Technologien ausarbeiten.

Intelligent systems are of crucial importance for the future operation of spacecraft, enabling efficient, autonomous, and adaptable space missions. To be effective in space applications, such systems must be specifically tailored to operate under domain-specific constraints.
This includes learning from relatively small datasets, operating under strict resource limitations, and ensuring high levels of safety and robustness. This talk outlines the core components of intelligent space systems and reviews the current state of the art, followed by key challenges in the space domain. The focus will then shift to learning-based methods for efficient planning and control, which hold strong potential for addressing some of these challenges. We conclude with an outlook on future research directions.
