In the ‘Career Prospects’ series, alumni from the University of Würzburg talk about their day-to-day working lives. They introduce their industry, discuss their career paths and offer personal insights into their work.

The event is aimed at students, PhD candidates and graduates. It offers the opportunity to learn about different career fields, ask questions and gain new perspectives for your own career path. It takes place once every semester.

25 June 2024: Presentation on career prospects with the University of Würzburg Community and Career Centre

This event, organised in cooperation with the Career Centre, offered a valuable opportunity for students, PhD candidates and recent graduates to network with working alumni of the University of Würzburg and gain insights into exciting career fields.

During the event, participants had the chance to learn about various professional fields and career opportunities. A diverse range of career options was presented to help those present shape their professional future and discover new perspectives.

This year, we were delighted to welcome the following alumni as speakers:

  • Christoph Schirrmann
    Degree: MA in Politics, Economics and Public Law
    Job: Partner at VESTIGA Consulting GmbH, Munich

  • Tobias Spitzner
    Degree: Bachelor of Science in Economics; Master of Arts in Automotive Management
    Job: Manager of Digital Marketing, E-Commerce & CRM at Dacia

  • Georg Döller
    Degree: Master’s in Political Science and Government
    Job: Deputy Editor-in-Chief of sportstudio.de at ZDF

These experienced professionals provided valuable insights into their respective industries and spoke about their career paths. Participants had the opportunity to benefit directly from the experience and knowledge of these successful alumni.


26 April 2023: Career prospects with the mentoring programme

Former students of the University of Würzburg presented their career paths at a digital meeting and engaged in discussions with interested students.

This year, we were delighted to welcome the following alumni as speakers:

  • Dr Shiloe Mokay-Rinke, PhD in Political Science specialising in Refugee and Migration Issues and Managing Director of Cinatrix Media in The Gambia
  • Dr Lukas Kagerbauer, Deputy Managing Director of the Würzburg-Schweinfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce
  • Dr Christopher Schmidt, diplomat at the Federal Foreign Office

Finally, the Alumni Office’s mentoring programme was presented.

The event took place online in cooperation with the Career Centre.
