Interest Groups
The Alumni Office has launched new interest groups designed to further strengthen communication and networking among alumni. These groups bring together people with shared academic, professional or personal interests to exchange ideas, learn from one another and plan joint activities.
We are always delighted to welcome new enthusiasts who would like to join an existing interest group – as well as alumni who are interested in setting up a new group and playing an active role in shaping it.
Please feel free to send an email to alumni@uni-wuerzburg.de.
Do-it-yourself Interest Group
Do you love being creative and want to set aside some time for it in your daily life?
Then come along to the Do-it-yourself group!
This group is all about the motto ‘Do it yourself!’. It doesn’t matter WHAT you do, as long as YOU’RE the one doing it.
We meet for relaxed get-togethers and spend a few hours pursuing our chosen hobby in a pleasant atmosphere, whether it’s knitting, embroidery, painting or something completely different.
The group’s spokesperson is Isabel Kromer, a member of staff at the Alumni Office.
If you’re interested, please send an email to alumni@uni-wuerzburg.de.

Book Club Interest Group
Do you love books and discussing them? Then why not join the Alumnus Office’s book club!
Together, we read interesting, exciting and varied books – both international titles and those in English.
Every four weeks, book lovers meet in a relaxed, cosy setting to discuss, discover new perspectives and make both old and new friends. The meetings take place in person, via Zoom or in a hybrid format – whichever you prefer.
Look forward to an atmosphere that suits the theme and the chance to share ideas.
The book club is led by Emma Phelan. We’re delighted to welcome all new members
If you’re interested, please send an email to alumni@uni-wuerzburg.de.

Culinary Interest Group
Do you enjoy cooking and eating? Then the Culinary Group is just the thing for you!
Here, food lovers meet in small groups in Würzburg and other towns to cook together, share ideas and discover new things.
The Culinary Group has already met and, amongst other things, explored Levantine cuisine. We intend to continue this tradition of cooking and enjoying food together – new members are very welcome!
The spokesperson for the Culinary Group is Dr Eva Zahn-Biemüller.
If you have any questions or are interested in the next meetings, please email alumni@uni-wuerzburg.de.
Wine & Business Interest Group
Do you enjoy wine, culture and exercise? Then this group is just the thing for you!
The Wine and Culture Interest Group has already met and enjoyed a cosy mulled wine walk together in Frickenhausen in November. We’re always planning exciting new activities.
The group would like to continue these activities and invites anyone interested to come along, enjoy wine, culture and exercise, and discover new things.
The group’s spokespersons are Dr Gisela Blumenauer and Paul Ritter.
If you’re interested in the next meetings, please do email us at alumni@uni-wuerzburg.de.
