Wein-Kultur-Radeln 31.7.-1.8.2026

The cycling tour of the Wine-Active-Culture interest group will take place from 31 July to 2 August 2026.

The tour starts with a meeting on 31 July at 5 p.m. in Schwarzach and a short ride to warm up before cycling along the Main to some "wine culture locations" the next day. The trip then goes back to Schwarzach and you can decide for yourself whether you want to stay until Sunday or return on Saturday evening. You must organise your own accommodation and pay for your own meals. Paul Ritter and Gisela Blumenauer will organise the programme and schedule as speakers.

Planned programme

Friday, 31 July 2026
- By 16:00: Arrival, check-in and parking
o Meeting point: Hotel "Zum Benediktiner", Weideweg 7, 97359 Schwarzach am Main
- 17:00: Start of the warm-up tour to Rüdenhausen/Castell including a visit to the beer garden.
o Ride distance: approx. 10 km
o Ride time: approx. 1 hour

Saturday, 1 August 2026
- 10:00 a.m. - until approx. 5 p.m. Mainschleife tour to the wine island.
o Ride distance: approx. 35 km
o Ride time: approx. 3.5 hours

Sunday, 2 August 2026
- 10 a.m. and short ride home

Hotel booking offer for the alumni bike tour
A room contingent is available for the event at the Flair Hotel "Zum Benediktiner" under the keyword "Alumni Universität Würzburg" (call-off contingent until 1 July 2026).

Description of the cycle routes:
- Mainly flat with moderate climbs.
- Mainly on dedicated routes, away from motorised traffic, partly on side roads with little traffic.
Tour details & accommodation:
- The circular cycle tour starts from Schwarzach (start and finish are in the same place).
- We recommend booking a room in good time at the Flair Hotel "Zum Benediktiner", Schwarzach or in another inn in Schwarzach.
- Please note the cancellation conditions in the attached hotel contingent.
- The hotel has a bicycle garage with battery charging facilities.

Equipment & fitness:
- Please bring roadworthy bicycles.
- With a normal level of physical fitness, "organic bikers" can keep up without any problems.
- A taxi service must be booked individually in case of cancellations due to lack of fitness during the tour.
- In the event of technical bike problems, a taxi company will be used on an individual basis.
Costs & organisation:
- Each participant is responsible for travelling to Schwarzach and hotel bookings.
- Everyone pays for exactly what they order and eat!
- If there are any expenses for wine tasting, tips etc., we will let you know the amount in advance.
- The tour is perfect for wine connoisseurs!

Liability & procedure:
- The organising team accepts no liability for the course of the tour or any damage!
- The route and timetable are flexible and will also depend on the weather.
