Affiliation Policy

The publication output of individual scientists and – in its entirety – of Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg is regarded as an indicator of the research activities of our alma mater and is included in performance comparisons at national and international level.

To increase the visibility and accessibility of our research output, an exact and uniform indication of the institutional affiliation of our researchers is necessary. Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, together with the University Hospital Würzburg, has therefore adopted an affiliation policy, which must be complied with in all academic publications.

The guideline defines standardised spellings for the indication of affiliation, and provides information on the use of persistent identifiers for publishers (ORCID) as well as institutional identifiers (e.g., ROR).
