Call for applicants as CHARM-EU mentors

Dear researchers and teachers,

for the new cohort of the CHARM-EU Master's program, CHARM-EU is planning to recruit mentors for our Master students from all partner institutions.

The Alliance would like to invite JMU researchers and teachers to become mentors. This collaboration will facilitate the future integration of the Master program at the University of Würzburg, as you will be able to work directly with the master students and interact with other colleagues who have experience with the CHARM Master program.

During the Master's program, each student will have the opportunity to receive individual support for their personal and professional development, with a maximum of 3 hours per phase. At the end of each phase, students are required to submit a self-reflection on their personal and professional development (PDP) in CHARM.

As mentors, your role will be to utilize your expertise and experience during your scheduled 3-hour meetings (which can be divided into several sessions) to facilitate the self-reflection process for students' personal and professional development. Additionally, you will be required to complete a Mentor Advice Form (MAF) to provide them with feedback. To better support the students' journey, it is suggested that you provide continuous mentoring support to the same students for 3 phases in CHARM. This means that each student in a cohort will receive a total of 9 hours of mentoring throughout the program (3x3).

To assist you in this role, CHARM-EU experts will provide the following support:

- An onboarding package containing detailed instructions (e.g., handbooks, templates, and more).

- An information session on the organization and operation of CHARM-EU (scheduled between August and September).

- Monthly training or drop-in sessions for mutual learning and further professional development.

- Local or international university-based communities for additional support

By becoming a mentor of the CHARM-EU community, you will have the opportunity to explore the innovative pedagogical program of CHARM-EU, including educational principles, programmatic assessments, and PLOs (Program Learning Outcomes). Additionally, you will gain insights into student involvement and learning journeys, while expanding your professional network. It's a great chance to be part of an enriching educational initiative.

We kindly ask you to join us and offer your valuable experience and academic knowledge to our students!
