CHARM Day at JMU

10/17/2023

A lot has happened since the University of Würzburg joined the European university alliance CHARM-EU. At the first CHARM-EU Day at JMU, an initial assessment was made in a relaxed atmosphere.

The University of Würzburg has been a full member of the EU-funded university alliance CHARM-EU for nine months. Since then, a lot has happened: Many different tasks have been and are being worked on, exciting projects have been initiated and, above all, the CHARM-EU team at JMU has grown steadily.

So it was a good time to get to know each other, to exchange ideas and to take stock. The response to the first CHARM-EU Day at JMU was correspondingly positive. Employees from various departments met on September 13 in the Graduate School of Life Science.

A piece of "living Europe"

In the "internal" part of the event, participants introduced themselves and their work areas to other CHARM-EU members at JMU and shared their very personal opinions on the university alliance. "For me, CHARM-EU is a piece of living Europe" explained Doris Fischer, Vice President for Internationalization and Alumni - an idea shared by many of those present.

A real chance to be part of something bigger and to actively shape internationalization were further arguments for CHARM-EU.

Afterwards, groups worked out which aspects of the work on CHARM are already going well, where there is still room for improvement, what visions there are for the respective areas of work and what their wishes are for CHARM-EU at the University of Würzburg.

Open exchange at the Meet and Greet Lunch

With the Meet and Greet Lunch, the CHARM-EU Day was finally opened to all interested parties at the university. With tasty snacks, a constructive exchange developed here as well, in which it became clear how much potential, but also work, lies in the cooperation of European universities.
