Images free of charge and legally secure
04/03/2023The University of Würzburg has acquired a campus license from the online image database "Colourbox". Members of the university can download up to 30 photos and illustrations per month.
The "Colourbox" image database currently offers around 26 million images, illustrations and videos. From April 1, 2023, lecturers, students and employees of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) will have access to it - the university will bear the costs for the corresponding campus license.
Each member of the university has access to 30 free downloads per month - for illustrating seminar papers and assignments, for use in course and teaching materials, for presentations and lectures, for flyers, websites or the social media presence. The only restriction is that the license is only valid for "academic purposes" of a non-commercial nature.
Detailed information on how to access Colourbox and download images can be found on the service pages on the homepage of the University Press Office after logging in with your personal university login ID. Please note: The code is only accessible to members of the University of Würzburg.
