The Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BAdW) honours the Würzburg jurist Dr Josef Bongartz with the Peregrinus Prize for his doctoral thesis. His thesis focussed on the Würzburg chancery court around the year 1600.

Music at Christmas time: On the third Saturday in Advent, a concert with the brass quintet of the Würzburg Philharmonic Orchestra will take place on the tower of the Neubaukirche. The carillon will also be playing.

On 12 December, the quintet "Pandemic Brass" will be performing at the Head Clinic in Würzburg. Admission is free. Donations will go to the palliative care unit at the hospital.
