Five years of research, teaching and commitment to sustainability: the University of Würzburg’s WueLAB sustainability laboratory is hosting its anniversary celebration on 15 October. Registration is now open.

Following the success of the first Franconian Pub Quiz, the University Library of Würzburg is once again inviting people to take part in a quiz on 13 October. Once again, it’s all about Franconia, knowledge of Franconia and the odd surprising answer or two.

The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy has awarded an honorary doctorate to Jarugu Narasimha Moorthy, Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, in recognition of his achievements.

Würzburg Professor Georg Nagel (73) has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discoveries in optogenetics. He conducted research at JMU for more than 20 years.
