First Steps into studying

In this lecture, we address topics that are relevant for all first-year students (but less so for Master's students), regardless of their subject:

• How do I study successfully between academic freedom and examination regulations?
• How do I find my way around the university if I don't (yet) know anyone here and am perhaps the first person in my family to study?
• Terms and regulations (What does c.t. actually mean? What are subject-specific regulations?)
• What support services are available?
• How can I organise my studies so that I have as much fun as possible?
• What else does the University of Würzburg have to offer me?
• In short, everything that is independent of the subject area and can be helpful in finding your way around the university and making better use of what the departments have to offer.

The lecture deals with fundamental aspects such as "personal responsibility" as well as very practical tips ("Don't forget to re-register") and is therefore intended as a supplement to the subject-specific introductory programmes offered by the departments.
