Survey system
Surveys in the area of studying and teaching are a classic instrument for obtaining an opinion of the student body or teaching staff on certain topics or questions. In addition to course evaluations, surveys are a means of systematically generating information to optimise studies and teaching.
Unit A.3 organises and coordinates both internal and external central surveys in the area of teaching and learning. However, this requires the prior approval of the university management. Unit A.3 is happy to support those interested in centralised surveys in preparing the relevant report for submission to the university management for approval.
On request, Unit A.3 also supports those responsible for quality management in the faculties and central institutions in analysing and interpreting the results of central surveys.
The Regulations for the Evaluation of Studies and Teaching at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg of 23 February 2018 as amended on 29 July 2025.
Principles of evaluation
- Standards und Leitlinien für die Qualitätssicherung im Europäischen Hochschulraum / Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
- The new version of the standards and guidelines adopted by the Conference of Education Ministers in Yerevan (14/15 May 2015) form the basis for quality assurance at all European universities. - Standards of the Gesellschaft für Evaluation (German).
- With its standards for the implementation of evaluations from 2008, DeGEval (Gesellschaft für Evaluation) presented criteria that are increasingly being adopted by universities in German-speaking countries.

The evasys evaluation software is widely used at the University of Würzburg. This software solution supports the large-scale implementation and analysis of evaluations and surveys.
With the help of evasys, paper and online questionnaires can be created and analysed automatically. Once completed, paper questionnaires are read in at a central data processing station in the central IT administration, including the open-ended information, and do not have to be entered manually.
