Unlocking the nanoscale world, particularly for live-cell molecular imaging, is profoundly fascinating. My focus leverages advanced nanodevice design and fabrication to manufacture artificial nanostructures (e.g., plasmonic ones) that precisely manipulate light at the nanoscale. Central to this endeavor is the development of highly adaptable metasurfaces. These engineered interfaces bestow great capabilities upon super-resolution bioimaging and biosensing platforms (e.g., confocal microscopy and single-molecule localization microscopy). This offers unique insights into biointerface dynamics with high contrast and high spatiotemporal resolution. While fundamentally driven by curiosity about how light and matter tango at the nanoscale, I am equally committed to ensuring these nanophotonic innovations eventually find their way off the lab bench and towards transformative clinical applications.
