Law and economics
Jurisprudence
Eva Köhler
After graduating from high school, I started studying law at the University of Würzburg in the winter semester of 2017/18. I've always enjoyed reading and therefore wanted to study something that would allow me to engage with the German language. It was particularly important to me to be able to make a difference by using the language. I am currently in my 6th semester and am specialising in law.
Law is a diverse degree programme and you receive a universal education. You deal with the law and its influence on people's lives. It is important to understand the system of laws and their interpretation. At the end of your training, you can pursue a traditional profession such as a judge or lawyer. However, you can also work in the legal department of a company or go into politics. The career opportunities are just as varied as the degree programme itself, which is why this subject can be the right choice for many people.

Jurisprudence
Carolin Schwenninger
I have been studying law at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität in Würzburg since the 2015/2016 winter semester. My interest in law was sparked by a school internship at a court. As a result, I started studying straight after leaving school. I am currently in the final stage of my studies - preparing for the First State Examination in Law.
Legal professions such as judge or lawyer require a degree in law, a legal clerkship and two state law exams. During your studies, you primarily learn how to apply and interpret the applicable law. In addition to civil, criminal and public law, a wide variety of legal areas are covered, including European law. Varied cases, abstract thought structures, laws, but also their social, economic and political foundations are all part of the law degree programme and the profession of a fully qualified lawyer.

Economics
Jennifer Wartosch
I have been studying economics since the winter semester 2019/2020, am now in my 6th semester and am currently writing my Bachelor's thesis. I discovered my general interest in economics early on at school, and I decided relatively quickly to start studying economics straight after my A-levels. In the end, I decided in favour of economics because the degree course inspires me with its incredible variety of content.
Economics is an umbrella term that includes business administration, which deals with internal company contexts, and economics, which deals with macroeconomic topics. Both areas are in turn subdivided into numerous sub-areas. In order to gain a macroeconomic understanding, we are also taught relevant basic knowledge in the fields of business informatics and business law. In the course of the programme, we alternate between learning the theoretical basics and more tangible application examples.

Economics
Thomas Ceyp
I have been studying economics in Würzburg since October 2016 and am currently writing my Bachelor's thesis. In the meantime, I was able to spend a semester abroad in Madrid thanks to the university's good international connections. It was also quite easy for me to choose a degree programme, as I have been following stock market news and the monetary policy of central banks with great interest since I was a teenager.
Economics is a hybrid of business administration, which deals with internal business relationships, and economics, which analyses macroeconomic relationships. Both perspectives are further subdivided into sub-disciplines, in which theoretical principles and tangible application examples are taught in a varied manner. In addition, insights into business informatics and business law are also offered in order to provide the most holistic degree programme possible.

Business informatics
Fynn Grabowski
Hi, I'm Fynn and I'm studying Business Informatics in my 4th semester at the University of Würzburg. Before I started studying, I was always most interested in economic contexts and computer science, so it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to combine the two. The Business Informatics degree programme is ideal for this.
Studying business informatics teaches you about both business management topics and IT topics, with a particular focus on combining the two.
What I particularly like about studying Business Informatics at the University of Würzburg is that you not only learn the theory in detail, but also have the opportunity to apply what you have learnt in small projects of your own.
