Women's Leadership Programme 2026
10/28/2025The Women's Leadership Programme is entering a new round. Female junior professors, female professors and experienced female working group leaders at the University of Würzburg can apply to take part until 30 November.
The Women's Leadership Programme is aimed at female junior professors, professors and experienced working group leaders at the University of Würzburg who want to expand and strengthen their leadership skills. The programme focuses on the individual development of each participant and profitable networking within the group. Working together in a closed group of participants and the coordinated modules form the exclusive unique selling point of the leadership programme.
As part of the Women Professors Programme 2030, the Women's Leadership Programme at the University of Würzburg will be advertised again and supplemented by a module on the topic of "Leadership in academic self-administration". The programme will be coordinated by the Office of the University Women's Representative under her leadership.
Programme Duration and Content
The programme will run for seven months, from January 2026 to July 2026.
Workshops on leadership and management topics will be conducted by professional external trainers in the group as the basis of the qualification programme.
In addition to the joint work in the workshops, each participant will have the opportunity to take part in personal coaching sessions of up to five sessions. The coaching sessions are used to work on the individually identified leadership topics.
A certificate of attendance from the Gender Equality Academy is issued for participation in the qualification programme.
In order to keep the exchange alive, follow-up events and joint networking meetings with the "alumnae" of the programme are also offered after the one-year core phase.
Application and Deadline
If you are interested in participating, please send an email (with details of your academic career and your current position at JMU) to the University Women's Representative, Professor Helga Stopper and the programme coordinator Dr Isabel Fraas by 30 November 2025: wlp@uni-wuerzburg.de
The joint kick-off of the leadership programme will take place on 13/14 January 2026 as a face-to-face workshop with Sabine Scheerer (impulsplus, Cologne)
What Former Participants Say
"The WLP programme is a great opportunity to develop further on topics such as leadership skills, media training and conflict management. I also really appreciated the fact that I was able to discuss these topics and my own experiences in person with colleagues in management positions from a wide range of faculties. There is hardly a better opportunity to expand a network at the location!"
Professor at Faculty of Medicine
"The thematically very well-chosen and sensibly coordinated workshops provided a comprehensive overview of key topics and gave lasting impetus on many levels. In addition, there were opportunities to individualise the programme. At the same time, the exchange within the group was very beneficial in terms of getting to know perspectives from other subjects."
Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy
"Highly qualified trainers, precisely tailored to the needs of managers at the university, excellent organisation, synergy effects through the other participants."
Professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences
