Thyroid: Information Day with Free Examination
09/16/2025Thyroid cancer will be the subject of an information day in German language at the University Hospital on Saturday, 18 October. Anyone interested must register by 6 October.
The Clinic of Nuclear Medicine at the University Hospital of Würzburg invites you to the Thyroid Info Day 2025 on Saturday, 18 October 2025. The free event is aimed at patients, their relatives and other interested parties.
Between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m., experts from various medical disciplines will give talks on the diagnosis and treatment options for thyroid cancer in the auditorium of the Centre for Internal Medicine on Oberdürrbacher Straße. The short presentations will cover, for example, surgery, radioiodine therapy and drug therapies as well as combined treatment concepts.
After the lecture block, the clinic will offer free thyroid ultrasound examinations until 14:00.
Anyone wishing to attend the information day must register by 6 October at the latest, selbsthilfe@ukw.de
Facts
Thyroid cancer is a rare disease. It accounts for around one per cent of all malignant tumours. Women are more frequently affected than men, usually in middle age. There are several variants, with the type of tumour largely determining the therapy and the chances of recovery.
