Social commitment awards from the Alumni Association

12/16/2025

Many people at the university are strongly committed to working together. To honour them, the central alumni association at each faculty donates a social commitment award.

To further strengthen the community at the University of Würzburg and recognise the special commitment of individuals: With this aim in mind, Alumni & Friends e.V. has created a Social Commitment Award. The award is endowed with 200 euros; each of the ten faculties can award one prize per year.

"The prize is intended to recognise people who make a special effort to promote cooperation within the faculty community," says association chairman Peter Bofinger, who initiated the prize. Faculty student councils, students, doctoral candidates, professors, secretarial staff and other JMU employees are honoured.
