Laboratory values, measurement data, texts, audiovisual information, questionnaires, software, simulations: A wide variety of data is generated in scientific research. They are increasingly available in digital form, which is why their management is of great importance. The secure storage, detailed description and publication of digital research data within the legal framework are therefore of great importance for the scientific community.

Coffee Lectures for all interested parties

As part of the international "Love Data Week", the Research Data Management (RDM) team at the University Library (UB) and the Computer Centre is offering a wide range of information and advice. Users of Würzburg's services will also have their say in the form of experience reports and best-practice examples. The team of the Bavarian Open Data Portal will also be involved and will report on the integration and visualisation of Würzburg research data.

In five online lectures, the "Coffee Lectures", scientists and other interested parties will have the opportunity to find out about the latest developments in research data management. They will also learn more about the services offered by the University Library for the publication and documentation of digital research data.

Participation is free of charge

The online events will take place from Tuesday to Thursday, 10 to 12 February 2026, between 11:00 and 12:00. They offer compact input on the following topics

  • Where's the data - research tools and repositories for research data
  • Electronic lab notebooks: Central services at the JMU
  • WueData & JMU Data Journals: Institutional publication channels for FD at the University of Würzburg
  • OpenByData - The Bavarian regional portal for open data from research and administration
  • Training and counselling services on the topic of RDM at JMU

Participation in the events is free of charge. Information on the individual lectures and the access links can be found on the University Library website.

Background: Love Data Week

The "Love Data Week" is an international week of action around the topics of research data and research data management. Under this year's motto "Where's the data?", numerous events on a wide variety of topics will take place from 9 to 13 February 2026.

The RDM initiatives in German-speaking countries want to attract more attention to the topic of research data management with broad participation in the "Love Data Week". More information about the campaign week
