Pussel - Complex paper, simply structured

Since April 2025, Lewe Lorenzen has been working on the idea of the "Pussel App": an AI-supported reading aid for students with reading difficulties. From the winter semester 2025/26, the "Pussel" project will have the opportunity to be supported as a transformation experiment at WueLAB.

The idea for the app was developed as part of the Human-Computer Interaction Master's programme at the Chair of Psychological Ergonomics and has been scientifically supported by Dr Stephan Huber ever since. The first alpha version is now available as a web application.

The "Pussel App" prepares scientific papers in a modular and more comprehensible way using a large language model in order to facilitate access to specialised literature. The target group is all students (but especially students with reading difficulties or international students) as well as researchers and journalists.

With the support of the WueLab and MediaLab Bayern, an effectiveness study is currently being conducted to investigate how Pussel influences the reading experience. We are currently looking for participants with symptoms of dyslexia. Former students can also take part.
