Henry Mörtl

Initiator and coordinator of the student-led transformation experiment ‘Forum Mobiliät’

  • Role/responsibility at the Forum: Concept development and coordination
  • Studying at the Institute of Philosophy (Master’s)
  • Main areas of focus: forms of engagement, ethics of the future, theory of democracy
  • Engagement: primarily within the university sector, particularly regarding student participation in teaching and decision-making processes, sustainability, equal access to higher education, mobility, cultural opportunities during studies, etc.
  • How did the idea for the Forum come about?
The idea for the Forum arose from the Mobility Partnership, in which students at the University of Würzburg have been meeting every three months since November 2023 with the transport companies operating in Würzburg to bring about improvements in student mobility. As we want to hear the views of all three universities in Würzburg on the topic of mobility, this forum is intended to become a networking and action platform for all interested parties and stakeholders.
  • What does sustainability mean to me?
For me, sustainability means, first and foremost, preservation and enabling: in order to ensure that future generations can also enjoy a good quality of life, we must strive to preserve our environment in all social, political and economic spheres. At the same time, however, sustainability also reflects an inner attitude that is expressed through future-proofing, resilience, health and a sense of community.
