Whether you’re looking for an initial introduction to the university library or want to brush up on your existing knowledge, these three 30-minute courses offer a concise introduction to key skills for everyday student life.

The University Library in 30 Minutes

How is the university library organised? Where can you find books and other resources, and how can you borrow them? What can you do with your library card? This course provides an overview of the university library’s key resources and services, making it easier for you to get started using the library both on-site and online.

Research Basics in 30 Minutes

How can you find suitable academic literature based on a topic for an essay or a presentation? This course teaches basic research skills and introduces key tools – from the library catalogue and databases to academic search portals. It also addresses the question of when literature is suitable for citation and which programmes can assist with the systematic collection and management of literature.

Literature Research with AI in 30 Minutes

What opportunities does AI offer for literature research, and what should you bear in mind? The course demonstrates how AI-supported research can be used effectively and how to interpret research results. It also addresses fundamental questions regarding the selection of suitable AI tools and key aspects of their use.

Dates and registration

All three courses will be offered several times from the start of the semester on 28 September. The respective dates and further information can be found in the course catalogue and the University of Würzburg’s calendar of events. Registration is via WueStudy.
