A walk with a learning effect

03/31/2026

Structural changes have characterised the Hubland campus for years and will continue to do so for some time to come. For those who would like to see for themselves, the university is offering an informative campus walk on 8 May.

Beim Campus-Spaziergang können sich Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer einen Überblick sowohl über bestehende als auch im Bau befindliche Gebäude auf dem weitläufigen Campus am Hubland verschaffen.

The Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) is constantly undergoing structural changes, as excellent teaching and research also require the appropriate infrastructure. Anyone who wants to get an overview of both existing buildings and those under construction on the extensive Hubland campus can do so on Friday, 8 May, from 1.00 pm.

The walk should take around two hours and will cover both the southern and northern parts of the Hubland Campus.

From "Roter Platz" to the campus garden

The meeting point is on the red paved square in front of the university library. From there you will first explore the south campus. Via Chemistry to Biology and then to Physics. The route then crosses the campus bridge to the northern part of the campus.

There you can see newer buildings such as the Mensateria and the Centre for Philology and Digitality. The route then leads eastwards through the former barracks area, past various construction projects. Finally, the tour ends in greenery: in the campus garden.

The campus walk is offered once per semester and the planned route is generally barrier-free.

Registration

All JMU employees can take part. Registration takes place via an online form.

There are still places available, but they are limited to 25 participants.
