The Faculty of Human Sciences also plays a key role in the Africa Centre Forum and in the Young Africa Centre at JMU through staff from the Institute of Political Science and Sociology. As an association of academics who have been working closely with partners in Africa for many years, the Africa Centre Forum brings together and networks existing research and collaborations. The Young Africa Centre working group in particular makes a sustainable contribution to the internationalisation and promotion of young academics in Africa and Germany. Through numerous activities, including the publication of a series of papers by young academics and a joint training programme with the Bavarian Riot Police on the topic of "Intercultural Competence", it continues the long-standing tradition of research on and with Africa at JMU. The most obvious evidence of this is the exhibition curated by the members of the Young Africa Centre entitled "With/about Africa: 30 years of research and teaching at the University of Würzburg", which has been shown at the Würzburg Africa Festival and in the buildings of the Faculties of Arts and Human Sciences over the past two years.
