International Affairs
In addition to continuously increasing its cooperation with renowned universities around the globe and furthering international research collaborations, JMU places a high priority on creating an international campus. To foster exchange and cooperation with outstanding visiting researchers, JMU established the Siebold-Collegium – Institute for Advanced Studies (SCIAS) in 2016. Nearly twelve percent of the university’s students and approximately seven percent of its staff have an international background.
International students receive support from the International Office, tutoring schemes, language courses, and projects for intercultural competence. JMU’s Welcome Centre offers assistance to international scientists in administrative and practical matters regarding their move to Würzburg.
The University of Würzburg Graduate Schools (UWGS) demonstrate a consistent international focus in teaching and research. The Graduate Academy offers programmes and events that are open to all international doctoral candidates and postdocs at the university.
