Why do we keep falling into the same mental traps? And how can we specifically strengthen our inner resilience? In an increasingly volatile and complex world, our brains make countless decisions every day. To cope with the flood of information, they use what are known as heuristics – mental shortcuts that enable us to act quickly. However, whilst this is often helpful in everyday life, it can also lead to systematic errors in thinking and misjudgements.

Let’s take a look behind the scenes of our psyche. Using selected cognitive biases, psychological models and practical examples, we’ll discover how our thought patterns arise, when they support us – and when they play tricks on us.

Together, we’ll explore ways to become more aware of our own behaviour patterns, adopt new perspectives and strengthen our personal resilience in the long term.

  • Strengthening self-control – dealing more consciously with impulses, habits and challenges
  • Developing cognitive flexibility – encouraging a change of perspective and discovering new solutions
  • Recognising your own needs – acknowledging boundaries and making targeted use of resources
  • Understanding the drama triangle – recognising typical roles and dynamics in conflict situations
  • Reflecting on one’s own thought patterns – identifying and questioning mental pitfalls
  • Fostering self-efficacy – strengthening confidence in one’s own abilities and actively shaping them
