Alicia von Schenk Receives the Zonta Prize

The Zonta Club Würzburg invites the public to the festive presentation of its 30th Science Award. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, from 7 p.m. in the university's Audimax on Sanderring. Dr Alicia von Schenk, junior professor at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU), will be honoured.

Outstanding Academic Achievements

"Dr Alicia von Schenk is a truly exceptional talent," says the Zonta Club: at just 26 years of age, she was appointed Junior Professor of Applied Microeconomics with a focus on human-machine interaction at JMU in 2022.

Her academic path is as impressive as it is inspiring: she passed her A-levels with a grade of 1.0 in record time, followed by double degrees in mathematics and economics with two master's degrees, and completed her doctorate summa cum laude. After completing her post-doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, she moved to Würzburg.

Research on Major Questions for the Future

Her academic work focuses on researching key social issues of the future from a behavioural economics perspective: How do artificial intelligence and big data influence social coexistence and the world of work? How can selective information processing and disinformation be countered?

Among other things, Alicia von Schenk is leading a cooperation project with the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior and is a member of an expert group of the Bavarian State Chancellery on federalism and digitalisation.
