UniWein - Harvest 2025
09/23/2025The cooperation enters the next round. Representatives of the University of Würzburg and the Staatlicher Hofkeller have harvested the grapes for the new UniWein.

Klaus Baumann, Vice-Chancellor of Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU), and Thorsten Stegh, Managing Director of Universität Würzburg GmbH, accompanied this year's harvest together with vineyard director Thilo Heuft.
They grabbed the shears and saw the quality of the grapes for themselves. "The basis for great wines is created here in the vineyard - we then perfect them in the Hofkeller under the Residenz," says Thilo Heuft.
Scientific Excellence Meets Professional Expertise
With UniWein, two Würzburg institutions are combining their strengths: the scientific excellence and long history of the university with the winemaking expertise and tradition of the Staatlicher Hofkeller. From next year, the new 2025 vintage will be available from the University of Würzburg GmbH in the university shop, the Staatlicher Hofkeller vinotheque, the online shop and specialist retailers.
In 2026, the UniWein will once again symbolise the close connection between the university, the city and the Mainfranken region - and provide all wine lovers with a special moment of enjoyment.
The 2024 vintage is currently still available at the points of sale listed above.
