The Tandem Days run from 3 to 7 November 2025, during which pupils and a student tandem partner go to lectures and seminars, to the canteen at lunchtime and wherever students from the University of Würzburg happen to be. Discussions with lecturers and other students are also possible on these days.

The Tandem Days are one of several programmes offered by the Central Student Advisory Service where interested students can find out more about Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU), student life and their desired subjects.

In principle, anyone interested in studying at JMU can take part, but the event is primarily aimed at school pupils. This is why the Tandem Days take place once a year in the Whitsun holidays and once in the autumn holidays.

Procedure and Registration

How does a Tandem Day work? Prospective students can register on the homepage of the Central Student Advisory Service and choose their preferred subject from over 25 alternatives. On the day itself, you meet with the ambassador in a group of no more than five people. In consultation with the respective lecturers, they select the courses to be attended, give a tour of the campus, talk about their everyday life and answer questions about the university, Würzburg and their studies.

The registration deadline for the Tandem Days in the coming autumn holidays is 15 October.
