University-wide Survey on the Diversity Climate Launched
09/02/2025Diversity is a central concern of the University of Würzburg. A survey will help to determine the diversity climate. All students and staff are invited to take part.

The University of Würzburg) aims to create an appreciative study and work environment for all members of the university. In order to find out how diversity is actually experienced in everyday university life and where there are unmet needs, the Diversity Working Group of the Faculty of Human Sciences is currently conducting a survey on the state of the diversity climate at JMU together with the Diversity Coordination Office.
Making experiences visible - developing solutions together
The survey is aimed at the entire university community, i.e. all students and employees in science, technology and administration. It aims to draw a differentiated picture of whether and to what extent individual university members are disadvantaged or discriminated against due to individual characteristics - and where there is a concrete need to improve study and working conditions.
With a total of 21 questions and an average completion time of around ten minutes, participation is deliberately kept low-threshold. The survey is voluntary, anonymous and complies with data protection regulations - no personal data such as names or email addresses are stored. In addition, the answer option "Can't/won't answer" can be selected for each question. This makes it possible to specify requirements for a specific topic area only.
Another step towards more diversity
The results of the survey will be incorporated into the strategic development of diversity work at JMU. They are intended both to evaluate existing measures and to provide new impetus for future projects - for example in the areas of discrimination-sensitive counselling, barrier-free study design or structural support for previously underrepresented groups.
The plan is to systematically analyse the feedback and pass on the findings to the relevant faculty and university management. The implementation of new measures and relevant interim results will be regularly communicated on the websites of the Diversity Coordination Centre and the Diversity Working Group of the Faculty of Human Sciences.
Participate now and help shape change
If you would like to take part, you will find individual access to the survey in the inbox of your personal university or student email with the subject "University-wide survey on diversity"
The entire team is looking forward to active participation and thanks everyone who contributes to the further development of an open, inclusive university culture through their feedback.
