Scholarships for female researchers and students
01/27/2026The Office of the University Women's Representative has announced two scholarship programmes. Interested female researchers and students can apply until 31 March 2026.
The SCIENTIA scholarships are intended for female scientists and are funded by the Bavarian Equal Opportunities Programme. The aim of the funding is to qualify young female scientists for a professorship or management position. The aim is to support female academics, particularly in phases of transition, for example in preparation for an application for funding from a third-party funding organisation.
Applications are open to (postdoctoral) female early career researchers from all disciplines; the application deadline is 31 March 2026. In special cases, doctoral scholarships may also be awarded.
A mandatory information event will be held for all interested female researchers to provide initial orientation and to clarify whether an application is generally eligible. The event will be offered on two dates
- Monday, 2 February 2026, at 13:00
- Friday, 13 February 2026, at 9:30 am
both in the seminar room (Klara-Oppenheimer-Weg 38). Registration is required at jmu-gleichstellungsfoerderung@uni-wuerzburg.de.
Dr Romana Schott Fund
The Dr Romana Schott Fund supports female students who, despite obstacles, have not been dissuaded from taking up academic studies. In particular, scholarships can be awarded to support female students with children. The application deadline is also 31 March 2025.
