Anna Haag, writer, journalist, pacifist, SPD politician and women's rights activist, began her diary in 1940. In this diary, which she hid in the coal cellar for years, Haag sketches everyday life during the Nazi era as well as the behaviour of her fellow human beings - and paints an unflattering picture of the population.

In 2021, the diary was published in full by Reclam-Verlag. Under the title "Denken ist heute ÜBERHAUPT nicht mehr Mode", actor Thomas Straus will read from the work. The reading is organised by the Chair of Modern History at the University of Würzburg.
