Dr Hermann Heineken, Emeritus University Professor of Mathematics I (Algebra) at the University of Würzburg, passed away on 4 April 2026.
Dr Dr Klaas Huizing, University Professor, Institute of Protestant Theology and Religious Education, retired at the end of March 2026.
Dr Julia Meister, Junior Professor, Institute of Geography and Geology, was appointed as a university professor at Kiel University with effect from 1 April 2026. Her temporary civil servant status with the Free State of Bavaria therefore ended by law at the end of 31 March 2026.
Prof. Dr Hubertus Riedmiller, Head of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Urology and Paediatric Urology at Würzburg University Hospital from 1997 until his retirement in 2016, passed away on 3 April 2026 at the age of 75. An obituary can be found on the hospital's website.
