Prof. Dr Jose Antonio Gimenez, History of Philosophy, Universidad de los Andes (Chile), Santiago, is joining Prof. Dr Christian Tornau’s research group at the Institute of Classical Philology on a research fellowship from the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation for experienced researchers.

Dr Katherina Hemmen, Akademische Rätin, Rudolf Virchow Centre – Centre for Integrative and Translational Bioimaging, has been granted lifetime appointment into civil service with effect from 15 July 2026.

Nicole Ledl, Bibliotheksoberinspektorin, University Library, has been appointed to Bibliotheksamtfrau with effect from 1 July 2026.

Prof. Dr Xuecao Li, Remote Sensing, Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China, is joining the team of Prof. Dr Hannes Taubenböck, Chair of Global Urbanisation and Remote Sensing, on a research fellowship from the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation for experienced researchers.

Dr Stephanie Sauer, Oberärztin and Head of the Gynaecological Radiology Section, Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, University Medical Centre Freiburg, has been granted the right to teach in the subject area of ‘Radiology’ with effect from 12 July 2026.

Dr Christian Stetter, Leitender Oberarzt, Department of Neurosurgery, has been granted the right to teach in the subject area of ‘Neurosurgery’ with effect from 9 July 2026.

Prof. Dr Frank Werner, Institute of Mathematics, has declined an appointment at the University of Lübeck.

Dr Laura Zapfe, Akademische Rätin, Institute of Political Science and Sociology, will be granted lifetime appointment into civil service with effect from 1 August 2026.
