Prof. Dr Frank Breuckmann, Consultant, Kitzinger Land Clinic, Department of Cardiology, Pulmonology, Neurology and Internal Medicine Intensive Care, was granted the right to teach in the subject area of ‘Internal Medicine’ with effect from 28 July 2026. At the same time, he was appointed as an adjunct professor at the University of Würzburg.
Dr Shiqiang Gao, a member of the academic staff at the Chair of Physiology – specialty in Neurophysiology – has been granted the right to teach in the subject area of ‘Physiology’ with effect from 28 July 2026.
Pia Grimm, Office of the Student Representatives’ Council, retired at the end of July 2026.
Dr Marek Grummt, acting professor at the Institute of Special Education, will continue to hold the post of university professor in the pay grade W 3 for Pedagogy in Physical and Complex Disabilities from 1 November 2026 until the post is permanently filled, but no later than 31 March 2027, in the post of University Professor (salary grade W 3) in the field of Education for Physical and Complex Disabilities.
Dr Philipp Gruschwitz, Senior Registrar, Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, was granted teaching authorisation for the subject area ‘Radiology’ with effect from 23 July 2026.
In the second volume of the Springer series *Key Works of the Critical Art of Living *, the authors discuss thinkers who have engaged philosophically and theologically with the eponymous ‘Critical Art of Living’. Alongside names such as Simone de Beauvoir, Pierre Bourdieu, Judith Butler, Erich Fromm and Susan Sontag, the volume also features Dr Klaas Huizing, former Professor of Systematic Theology and Contemporary Issues at the University of Würzburg. The anthology features his magnum opus *Lebenslehre. Eine Theologie für das 21. Jahrhundert* (*The Philosophy of Life: A Theology for the 21st Century* ), which was written in Würzburg and presented in numerous lectures and discussed with students.
Prof. Dr Silke Sachse, Chair of Neurobiology and Genetics, will be appointed acting head of the Chair of Zoology II - Behavioural Physiology and Sociobiology from 1 October 2026 until the post is permanently filled.
Dr Silvana Weber, a member of the academic staff at the Chair of Psychology of Communication and New Media, has been granted teaching authorisation in the subject area of ‘Psychology’ with effect from 17 July 2026.
