Dr. Ronald Walter Bogaschewsky, Universitätsprofessor, Business Management Institute, will retire at the end of September 2026.
Len Dietrich, Regierungssekretäranwärter, Unit 2.3: Prüfungsamt, was appointed Regierungssekretär with effect from 21 September 2026, with probationary appointment into civil service.
Dr. Ulrich Dischinger, Privatdozent in Internal Medicine, senior physician, Department of Internal Medicine I, was appointed Außerplanmäßiger Professor with effect from 19 September 2026.
Dr. Ralf-Ingo Ernestus, Universitätsprofessor, Department of Neurosurgery, will retire at the end of September 2026.
Dr. Johannes Kleinlein, Akademischer Rat, Chair of Experimental Physics III, was appointed Akademischer Oberrat with effect from 1 October 2026.
Dr. Florian Lange, Funktionsoberarzt, Department of Neurology, was granted venia legendi in Neurology with effect from 17 September 2026.
Dr. Patrick Maiwald, Akademischer Rat, Institute of Modern Languages and Literatures – Modern Foreign Languages, was appointed Akademischer Oberrat with effect from 1 October 2026.
Christine Meyer, Akademische Direktorin, Institute of Modern Languages and Literatures – Modern Foreign Languages, will retire at the end of September 2026.
Dr. Chiara Montanari, Chair of Organic Chemistry II, research group of Prof. Dr. Frank Würthner, has been awarded a fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for the period from 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2028. Her research topic is: ‘Investigation of the photoluminescence of highly flexible organic emitters encapsulated within supramolecular hosts’.
Christian Moser, Akademischer Oberrat, Sportzentrum, was appointed Akademischer Direktor with effect from 1 October 2026.
Dr. Alexander Pyrges, Akademischer Rat, Institute for the History of Medicine, will receive a lifetime appointment into civil service with effect from 1 October 2026.
Dr. Hans Rechenberg, Außerplanmäßiger Professor in International Law, German and Foreign Constitutional Law, Faculty of Law at the University of Würzburg, passed away on 26 August 2026.
Dr. Frederieke M. Schnack, Akademische Rätin auf Zeit, Chair of Medieval History and Historical Auxiliary Sciences, was granted venia legendi in Medieval History/Historical Auxiliary Sciences with effect from 22 September 2026.
Hanna Sendelbach will be appointed co-head of the Servicezentrum Technischer Betrieb as deputy head of department and head of Unit 6.1 for the period from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2030.
Dr. Jörg Teßmar, Occupational Health, Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Protection Unit, was appointed Hazardous Substances Officer for the entire University with effect from 1 October 2026.
Dr. Anagnostis Valotis, Head of the Occupational Health, Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Protection Unit, was appointed authorised representative of the person responsible for radiation protection and full-time Radiation Protection Officer for the entire University with effect from 1 October 2026.
Julia Warmdt, Akademische Rätin, Institute of Education, will receive a lifetime appointment into civil service with effect from 1 October 2026.
