Dr. Thomas Haas, a former doctoral student of Professor Peter Bofinger, was awarded the Science Prize 2025 of the "bayerischen Sparkassen", endowed with 5,000 euros, for his dissertation "The Role of the Financial System for Economic Development: Empirical Evidence for Schumpeter's Monetary Analysis". Nominations were invited from all chairs and Institutes of economics and related subjects at Bavarian universities. The savings banks awarded three prizes for excellent theses related to the banking industry. More information.

Dr. Sebastian Klembt, Junior Professor, Institute of Physics, has been appointed to a tenured professorship of Experimental Physics I (Experimental Quantum Photonics) at the University of Würzburg with effect from 15 November 2025.

New members were elected for the following committees: Studies and Teaching, Budget Matters, Research and Young Academics, Gender Equality, Internationalisation and Sustainability. You can find the current appointments here.
