Prof. Dr. Michelle Becka, Institute of Practical Theology, has beenn appointed as a university professor with a lifetime appointment into civil service at the University of Münster with effect from 1 April 2026. Her civil servant status for life with the Free State of Bavaria therefore ended by law at the end of 31 March 2026.
Prof. Dr. Margarete Götz was awarded honorary membership by the German Society for Educational Science (DGfE). The DGfE thus honoured Götz's "enduring and profound commitment to the scientific profiling of primary school research", as stated in the laudation. At the same time, the society thanked her "for her work on the DGfE's various committees, which was always carried out in a timely manner and with great professional expertise". Margarete Götz held the Chair of Primary School Pedagogy and Primary School Didactics at the University of Würzburg from 1998 to 2016; from 2009 to 2012, she held the office of Vice President. She has been retired since 2016. She has been a member of the DGfE's Ethics Council since 2018, which monitors compliance with the DGfE's professional ethical principles. In this role, she has also been a member of the Ethics Committee since 2018, which advises members on ethical aspects when applying for and conducting research projects and issues a (clearance) vote.
Oxana Gruber has been employed in the administrative service at Unit 1.5 since 15.04.2026.
Dr. Franz-Ludwig Knemeyer, University Professor of Public Law, in particular Administrative Law, at the University of Würzburg from 1970 until his retirement in 2004, passed away on 6 April 2026 at the age of 88.
