Lene Alers, Regierungsinspektoranwärterin, was dismissed from her civil service position with the Free State of Bavaria at her own request with effect from 31 August 2025.

Dr. Tomislav Begušić, Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate, California Institute of Technology (Caltech), California, USA, has been appointed University Professor of Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Würzburg with effect from 1 September 2024.

Maximilian Geßner, Regierungsrat, Information Technology Centre, Division 3: Networks and Infrastructure, was granted lifetime appointment into civil service with effect from 8 September 2025.

Prof. Dr. Thomas Haaf, Institute of Human Genetics, will retire at the end of September 2025.

Regina Kirchner, Bibliotheksoberinspektorin, University Library, has been appointed Bibliotheksamtfrau with effect from 15 September 2025.

Prof. Dr. Laurens Molenkamp, Institute of Physics, will retire at the end of September 2025.

Prof. Dr. Sergio Montenegro Retana, Institute of Computer Science, will retire at the end of September 2025.

Privatdozent Dr. Benjamin Müsegades, University of Heidelberg / Director of the Hessian Institute for Regional History, Marburg, has been appointed to a tenured Professorship of Franconian Regional History at the University of Würzburg with effect from 1 September 2025.

Privatdozent Dr. Ingo Schrakamp, Research Associate, FU Berlin, will be temporarily employed in the position of a University Professor of Ancient Near Eastern Studies for the duration of Prof Dr Daniel Schwemer's research sabbatical leave from 13 October 2025 to 31 July 2027.
